The research for co-HATY by Metalab centers on identifying low-carbon and cost-effective methods to transport, reuse, and upcycle donated materials from demolished buildings in Switzerland to support ongoing housing renovations in Ukraine. While the investigation addresses transportation strategies for all materials, the design aspect focuses on donated doors. This emphasis arises from doors' versatile potential for integration into spaces and the symbolic significance they carry within domestic environments.
