(RE)TREAT
A Modular Food Court in the Forest

The modular food court is a glowing beacon for hungry festival goers, establishing a spatial anchor within the area. It remains materially and spatially connected to the forest it inhabits, with an adaptable layout calibrated to existing tree locations, ensuring that none are displaced or impacted by the structure.
Prioritizing construction efficiency and optimized interior space utilization, the design is composed of lightweight modular wooden frames. These modules define a series of semi-open zones that accommodate varying vendor setups, circulation patterns, and collective gathering spaces, while maintaining a clear organizational logic.

The breathable wooden slats form a permeable envelope that filters light and promotes cross-ventilation while maintaining a visual connection to the surrounding forest. The modular system supports both assembly and disassembly, enabling components to be upcycled over time, and allowing the food court to relocate or expand as the needs of the festival evolve.
